I have completed ICT observations in the Pohutukawa and Totara Teams, as well as Sue S. Still to observe Sheree and will do so in Term 3.
It was pleasing to see that the digital workstations and activboards are being used in the classrooms by the teachers and some of the students. A great start with the teachers, a lot of them coming out of their comfort zone to produce a lesson. Half of the observations actually had the children involved in using the equipment, which was good to see.
Movers and shakers: Lynda Vercoe produced a fabulous lesson using the digital camera to video the class and then upload it to the blog using her digital workstation. The children were involved with all the ICT equipment every step of the way.
Sue Schuler's children demonstrated that they are ICT savvy, telling the teacher which icons to press on the activboard to produce results. They are also knowledgeable with the computers and type in the username and passwords on their own to access reading and writing sites. Wow!
Deni is also using her activboard often and daily to implement her daily classroom programme. Great to see!
