Today the team met to discuss what had been happening in the teams around the school. Most of the blogs have been established.
I have created a google document for the Totara Team in the hope that our team minutes will be easier to do. Trialling at the moment, so far so good.
As a team we will be presenting an indepth look at part whole and sequencing HOT maps in Week 9.

ICTLeadTeacherClusterMeetingMalfroy
Met up with the cluster Wednesday afternoon at Malfroy School. We all shared what we had been doing in our schools.
Annemarie had half an hour to present her inquiry presentation. Was very rushed and hard to take in the meaning of Inquiry learning in such a short time.
The milestone report has been completed by Nancy, which was a huge job for her, however we have all made leaps and bounds with our learning due to this task.
The minutes of this cluster meeting has been put on the wiki.
The cluster hope to meet as a group to look at the ins and outs of moviemaker sometime in the near future.

ICTClusterMeetingWestbrookSchool19May2010
Today the cluster met as Willow and colleagues from Sunset Primary were presenting charts that they had produced on SOLO Taxonomy so far.
Today I met Lorraine Watchorn for the first time. She will be our facilitator next year!
I thought the work that Sunset had done thus far with SOLO was fantastic. Their school had obviously taken SOLO on in a big way. They had rubrics for their school values which was on their report forms. They had created school wide rubrics on their Sustainability Unit with examples of activities the teachers could implement that covered pre-structural through to extended abstract. They had rubrics that were translated into te reo Maori. The reo teacher had a book that she pasted all rubrics into (Great idea)
Since Julie Mills SOLO workshop last Thursday, we found out that we weren't delving deep enough with the rubrics we had been creating. Willow had already gone back and started modifying the rubrics they had created.
I know that Glenholme Staff will need to ensure that the language of SOLO is used through the entire rubric. We will also need to use the visual maps to delve deeper and give our students a better understanding of what they are learning. The Community Learning Team will meet in the next couple of weeks to plan how we will present Julie's latest workshop to the school.
The rubrics need to be set out with pre-structural at the bottom and work upwards. Staff to be advised.
We also discussed our trials and tribulations working on the wiki, however there was some satisfaction from many about the learning curve.
I was given release today before our meeting at 1:30PM. I really appreciated this time where I reinforced my wiki skills and uploaded files, edited movies for the wiki.

MilestoneReport
What a challenging exercise this was! After collecting the information with Sue, I set to task organising the information and setting it out so that it was user friendly for Nancy to pull the information she would need. Working in the cluster wiki was a whole new experience altogether. It was slow and would freeze, so I decided to type all the information into a word document.
The only time I was able to work on the report was while I was at home, however all my information was on my school laptop and I was unable to gain internet acess on my school computer at home. I had to transfer the data on to my home computer in order to be able to work online. This became an onerous task, as documents, pictures, planning and rubrics needed to be transferred over!
However, after transferring my document on to the wiki, it threw my entire formatting out. The school logo pictured disappeared, bullet points disappeared, everything was underlined, paragraphs no longer existed and everything was bunched together, the font was tiny, colours had also been affected. So I started to fix all the formatting errors, only to find that after every few lines that I corrected, the wiki would freeze and I would have to sign out and start all over again. This occurred numerous times and so I had to save my work every couple of lines. Talk about FRUSTRATION!!!!!!
Hoorayyyyyyyyyyyyy all the information was on, the way I had intended the formatting to be. Now further challenges. How do I create links, how do I put pictures on the wiki, how do I create a movie of evidence and put it on the blog. Thank goodness for my son!!! He helped me with the links and pictures and after many hours of muddling and fiddling, I worked out how to embed a you tube video.
I did find this whole experience a real pain!!! In hindsight, it would have been a good idea to spend time with the cluster and learn how to make links and videos and upload them to google etc etc prior to this exercise.
POSITIVES: The positives however is that I now know how to create hyperlinks on the wiki. I learnt how to upload files to the wiki. I learnt how to create a movie using the flipcamera. I created a youtube account. I uploaded a video to youtube and I was able to embed it on to the wiki.

Day1ofthestartofmyblog
I've decided to keep a journal of my ICT journey as lead teacher at school. I hope to keep it current and use it as a reference to pinpoint all the ICT learning I encounter this year.
I feel this will a great way to log all entries of workshops, courses, lead teacher meetings etc that I attend.
